Release 1.16.0

May changelog: Smarter variant handling, inline editing & broader theme support

Written by Neo

πŸš€ New features

πŸ‘‰ Out-of-stock variant control for upsell products

You can now control how out-of-stock variants behave in upsell displays, giving shoppers a clearer and more accurate product selection experience.

New behavior:

  • If a product has multiple variants and at least one is in stock, all variants remain visible β€” including out-of-stock ones, so customers can see the full range

  • If all variants are out of stock, the product is removed from the upsell entirely and won't be shown to shoppers

This replaces the previous behavior where out-of-stock variants were hidden as soon as any in-stock variant existed, which could make products appear to have fewer options than they actually do.

The setting is configurable in the upsell product settings.

πŸ‘‰ Inline product editing modal for upsells, add-ons & free gifts

You can now edit products directly from within the app without leaving your current configuration.

When you click on a product link in any of the following sections:

  • Manual upsells

  • Product add-ons

  • Free gifts

A modal opens with the product editing interface, letting you make changes and return to your setup without navigating away. This removes the back-and-forth of opening a separate tab to update product details mid-setup.

βš™οΈ Improvements

πŸ‘‰ Expanded theme compatibility β€” Atelier added

Cartly's theme integration list has been extended with Atelier, ensuring the cart drawer opens correctly from the header cart icon and that the default theme cart does not appear behind Cartly when the drawer is closed.

If your theme isn't on this list, the Help Center article on manual cart hiding remains available as a fallback.
