đ Remove the upsell discount when the trigger product leaves the cart
Upsell discounts are meant to reward shoppers for buying the trigger product. Until now, a shopper could add the discounted upsell, remove the trigger product, and still check out with the upsell at the discounted price.
Manual upsell rules now have a new option: Remove discount if the trigger product is no longer in cart. When it's on and the shopper removes the trigger product, the upsell product stays in the cart at its regular price.
For example, a $128 product offers a second item at $88 as an upsell. If the shopper adds the $88 item and then removes the $128 one, the second item goes back to its regular price.
Where you'll find it:
Custom cart â Upsells and cross-sells â Manual rules â open a rule â Discount
What to know:
The option appears once Offer discount on upsell products is turned on.
It's off by default, so your existing rules work exactly as before.
It isn't available when Products to trigger upsell is set to All products, since any product in the cart counts as the trigger.
If the shopper adds the trigger product back, the discount is not restored.
For rules triggered by a collection or tag, the discount is removed only once Cartly confirms that no matching product is left in the cart.
