👉 Reward bar (new) — multi-tier rewards in your cart drawer
We’ve transformed the old Free-shipping progress bar into a Multi-reward bar with up to three tiers. You can reward customers with Free shipping, Discount, Free gift, or a Custom reward (visual only), and show the bar even on an empty cart.
Reward bar communicates multiple goals at once (e.g., Free shipping → 5% off → Free gift), helping customers see clear next steps.
The feature is disabled by default and not available on the current free plan.
Where to enable: Admin → Custom cart → Features → Reward bar. Choose bar style, position, show/hide the reward basis and title, and allow the bar on empty carts.
Default setup: With icons, top position, basis = Cart total, and three sample tiers (Free shipping → Discount → Free gift).
Tier limit: Add up to 3 tiers (the “Add tier” button hides at max).
Unique Free shipping: Only one Free shipping tier per bar; other reward types can be added more than once.
👉 Smarter thresholds and currency handling
Reward basis: Choose Cart total or Item count. If you pick Item count, the field label switches from “Minimum cart total value” to “Minimum item count.”
Currency & Markets: Amounts display in the store’s currency and convert automatically using Shopify Markets.
Validation: Supports decimals (both “.” and “,” by locale), blocks negatives, and keeps non-numeric characters out of the value field. Set 0 to grant the first tier to everyone.
👉 Clear tier logic (how rewards are earned and applied)
Display order: Tiers are sorted by their threshold (ascending) for customers, no matter the order created in admin.
Earning logic: We determine earned tiers using the pre-discount amount (cart before rewards). We then apply all earned rewards (shipping, gifts, percentage discounts). The customer sees the final post-discount amount. Free gifts are added as $0 items and remain even if post-discount dips below the threshold.
Discount creation: The app creates compatible Shopify Functions discounts based on your Reward bar settings. (Custom reward is visual only.)

👉 Admin UX details you’ll notice
Tier composer: Add/Remove tier controls, emoji support in Reward title, Goal reminder, and Goals achieved messages.
Guidance: Tooltip clarifies that currency will convert automatically; goal reminder supports
{{amount}}which shows the remaining money or item count to reach the next goal.
Type defaults: When adding a new tier, the Reward type defaults to the first available option (Free shipping if unused; otherwise Discount).
